When did you first know you were passionate about makeup artistry?
Ever since I was a little girl, makeup was always a fun thing to do with my mother and grandmother. It was then that I developed a passion about makeup. As I grew older I noticed the transformation women could have with just a few steps of great makeup application, color and the proper tools.
How would you describe your makeup style/philosophy?
My skincare and makeup philosophy is enhancing your own beauty. I love to use makeup that not only looks amazing on your skin but is also good for your skin. There are many makeup techniques that I can do that will create the look you desire; whether it is a simple polished look, or a glamorous smokey eye. The most important thing to remember is that you want to look your and feel your best.
What are some tips for brides wanting the perfect look on her wedding day?
The most important thing I recommend to brides is to be progressive not aggressive with your skincare regime. The best accessory you can have the day of your wedding is healthy skin. If your skin tends to be dry apply a moisturizing mask once a week. A common misconception is that if you have oily skin you shouldn't use moisturizer. It is important to hydrate the skin in order to keep the ph balanced.
Use a great facial wash, toner and moisturizer and apply your sunscreen! Avoid trying new things weeks leading up to your wedding. Having a great skincare routine all year long will ensure your skin looks healthy and flawless on the day of your wedding.
Communicate with your makeup artist during the trial consultation is a great way to ensure you have the look you want and there are no misunderstandings on the day.
Many brides would like a tan on their wedding day; what are your thoughts on achieving the best bronze glow?
Avoid the tanning beds!
Getting a spray tan before your wedding is a great way to have an even glow. I recommend testing out the spray tan months in advance to ensure you are not allergic to the solution as well as ensuring it doesn't have a strong odor. One way of illuminating a little bit of the odor from the tanning solution is to avoid having your underarms sprayed. Use a good body scrub a few days before will help exfoliate your skin, and properly moisturizing will ensure the golden glow will last.
Do you have any last minute tips?
Assign someone to carry your bridal bag that has your lip-gloss, mini powder, blotting papers, small mints and handkerchief to blot away your tears.
Be in the moment and enjoy your day!
